Choreographing the dance

The next step is choreographing a dance for the dancers to learn so that when it comes to the shoot day they are 100% prepared and know exactly what they are doing. The sooner they learn a dance the more they can practise and the better the video will be. The dancers are quite an important part of the video so therefore their dance needs to be slick and powerful. I have emailed the dancers with a time to meet them so that I can teach them a dance.

10th Nov:
I went through the dance with the girls today and we successfully created movements and a mini routine for them to follow on the shoot day. They all seemed pretty happy with it and all had their own input to add. Everyone looks so good! Here is what we came up with in the end:

Through this rehearsal we came up with so many new ideas to add which was really helpful to add contrast to the video.

First of all we used inspiration from the music video 'Sorry' by Justin Bieber (as originally planned) however, because I mentioned adding a 'surreal' aspect to the video Megan suggested we look at Sia's music video called 'The Greatest':

This really helped me think of new shot ideas and ways in which the dancers could move. I was thinking of also doing shots from above and the dancers all jumping up with their arms up looking into the camera. This would look really effective and would add different angles to the video.
